Aquathlon results

Written by CLAIRE on .

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who turned up to support the aquathlon this morning, unfortunate timing due to the clocks going forward I know but the sunny March morning saw 15 people ready and willing to test their pre season legs.

The event kicked of promptly at 8am with two waves going off 15 minutes apart. A good standard of swimming all round, showing that as Gloucester tri like to announce at super spints "Cardiff can swim!"

The runners went off in quick succession and we were keen to see who would emerge triumphant across the field first. It seems everyone battled hard and there were some close results with people fighting it out on the last section of the bridal path. Harry stormed through, taking first position for the event overall showing real strength for the season ahead. Followed by some good ol' sibling rivalry with a sprint finsh from the Moody brothers. Cardiff's very own Browlees? There was no waiting in this game! James held off his brother and took the household title by just one second.

A big congratulations to our 2012 winners of the winter league Scott Davies & Beverly Lewis. Scott showed real strength on the bike and managed to hold off competiton in the other key events; his improvements in the pool also make him a very deserved winner. Beverly showed real loyalty to each event and despite tough conditions on the bike time trial turned up with grit and commitment!!
